Stay in Touch

Last Sunday, we shared with our home church more about our God-given calling to be full-time missionaries in the Philippines. We are grateful to God for the joy of being sent out to the harvest by our brothers and sisters in the Lord who share the same passion for the gospel of Christ!

We’ll be spending the next few months traveling around USA and Canada to visit with other believers in other congregations, small groups, and families to share our heart for the churches and the lost in the Philippines.

If you want us to visit you or your church, contact us and we’d love to fellowship with you before we leave for the mission field at the end of this year.

🙏 Pray that God would help us admonish the churches in USA and Canada in the gospel of Christ. Pray for strength and rest for our family during these very packed days of traveling, Bible studies, and visitations.

Last month, our mission team partnered with three local churches in Bamban, Tarlac to bring the gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ to the people in their area. We give glory to God for opening for us the door for the Word (literally and spiritually!) so we could speak forth the mystery of Christ (Col 4:3).

By God’s grace, through these door-to-door outreaches many families were introduced to the local church, started attending Sunday services, and several home Bible studies were started with those who desired to learn more about Jesus Christ! All glory to God!

🙏 Continue to pray for the local churches to keep sowing the seeds of the Word of God. Pray that as God continues to draw all men to Himself, that people would respond to His gospel in faith.

It’s our first Sunday back from our month long of mission in the Philippines. And looking back, we praise God for the privilege given to Pastor Bong to preach at 5 different Sunday worship services.

⛪️ Some churches we visited had been gathering for 50+ years, while others were planted just 5 years ago… some had a Sunday attendance of 200+, while others a faithful 20… from the middle of the bustling metropolitan city to rugged rural roads… it was a joy to join the assembling of the saints and to be united in one faith, one hope, one baptism, one Lord and Savior who is Head over us all and is in all.

📖 By God’s grace, the church was exhorted to keep Christ Jesus at the center of sharing His Gospel and at the center of fulfilling His Great Commission! All glory to God! Blessed Sunday everyone!

UBC’s ministry is uniquely geared towards students in high school and university. Along with their weekend gatherings as a local church body, the church doors are open during every day of the week as a “student life center” with the intention of introducing young people to Jesus Christ and connecting/discipling them through the local church.

Today was a time of fellowship with the pastors in prayer, singing, the Word, breaking of bread and preparations for the Christ-centered Bible training this weekend. We praise God for all the study Bibles that were donated to gift to these preachers of the Word!

🙏 Pray for the pastors at University Baptist Church and its satellite churches. Pray for the seminar tomorrow and the next day—that the church of God here will be strengthened, admonished, and equipped for every good work according to the Scriptures and for the glory of Christ Jesus alone.

Day 2 of whole-day evangelism in Bangcu, Dapdap with Genesis Community Baptist Church. In addition to sharing the gospel of Jesus Christ, we also gave out Tagalog Bibles, sacks of rice to unchurched families, candy for the kids, and a hot meal for all in attendance.

Our first day of outreach and evangelism in Sibul. We give thanks to God for the open door for the gospel to be preached in this area. Many people we visited during this morning’s door-to-door evangelism came to the church for the evening outreach!

The church was overflowing so the children had their own service… there was over 50 of them! The glorious gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ was proclaimed to all generations!

🙏 Pray for those that heard the gospel today, that they would believe in the Lord Jesus Christ and receive the free gift of salvation, they and their household. Pray for Sibul Baptist Mission, that the Lord will add to their number daily as they remain faithful to God in prayer, to the Word, to the preaching the gospel, and to making disciples of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Last Sunday we commissioned our church’s new lead pastor during our Thanksgiving worship service.

When we announced our calling to full-time mission, we made a commitment to God and to our church to not depart until God has called a new pastor to lead in Pastor Bong’s stead.

Now 5 years later, we give thanks to God for His sovereign will and timing! We thank the Lord for providing a man after God’s own heart who will shepherd the flock of God in the gospel of Jesus Christ.

We are thankful for this past season of ministry in San Diego, and we give thanks to Christ Jesus for ushering us into this next season of our life in Him as missionaries in Philippines!

Almost a month has passed since our short-term mission in Tarlac. We continue to praise God for Capas Baptist Church who hosted our team! We first met Pastor Augusto and his family in 2017 when our churches partnered together for mission.

At that time, we prayed with them overlooking an empty lot for God to provide for the construction of their church building. And to think, a few years later, God would allow that very building and grounds to host a Bible seminar for 90 and an evangelistic crusade with 250 people! Glory to God!

Join us in upholding this family in your prayers: Pastor Augusto and his wife, Rea, with their two children, Sophia and Shekinah. Pray that the Lord Jesus would always be their First Love and that He would enable them to love and shepherd the church of God there in Capas to love Christ first.

This is a clip from last night’s recap and fellowship of the pastors, their wives, and all the AOFIM delegates. After hearing pastor after pastor share that they were admonished to love the Lord Jesus first and foremost as a pastor, as a church, as evangelists… we were overjoyed that God has accomplished the vision He gave us as a ministry: to restore the honor and glory to Jesus Christ as first love of His messengers, as first place in His church, and as first importance of His gospel.

We have much more to share, but all in all, truly… to God be the glory! Great things He has done!

The first picture is all the pastors who attended (some were absent on the last day). There were some pastors who came to the church at the crack of dawn because they wanted to receive a new ESV study Bible (given to the pastors who arrived the earliest each day)! And others who commuted an hour away each day to attend.

All in all, it was a wonderful end to the seminar with such sweet fellowship, as we committed ourselves to go back to our First Love: our Lord Jesus Christ.

”You therefore, my son, be strong in the grace that is in Christ Jesus. The things which you have heard from me in the presence of many witnesses, entrust these to faithful men who will be able to teach others also. Suffer hardship with me, as a good soldier of Christ Jesus.“

Day 2 of our mission and seminar.

While the Bible seminar was happening at Capas Tarlac, we sent out Pastor Matt, Joy, and Malu to partner with Voice of Truth Baptist Church in Camiling Tarlac in sharing the gospel of Jesus Christ from house to house, on the streets, and in the marketplace.

Praise the Lord for His Word, His truth, His gospel, His righteousness, and love that is being proclaimed to the believers and unbelievers in Tarlac.

”For I am not ashamed of the gospel, for it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes, to the Jew first and also to the Greek. For in it the righteousness of God is revealed from faith to faith; as it is written, “But the righteous man shall live by faith.” (Romans‬ ‭1‬:‭16‬-‭17‬ )
