United States: AOFIM is exempt in the U.S. from federal income tax under Internal Revenue Code Section 501(c)(3). We are registered as a religious non-profit organization classified as a public charity by the IRS. Our EIN is 88-4103319. Click here to view our IRS Letter of Exemption. Canada: AOFIM is recognized as a tax-exempt organization in Canada under the terms of Article XXI, Paragraph 1 of the Canada-United States Income Tax Convention. As for the tax-deductibility of Canadian-sourced contributions, generally, it can only be claimed to offset U.S. source income (click here to read CRA's conditions for claiming deductions on your net world income). Please seek the advice of a tax professional for more details regarding the tax deductibility of your contributions to AOFIM. • Why are you raising funds now since you do not yet have a permanent move date to Philippines?
The funds we raise now will be used toward our current monthly expenses and to fund our short-term mission trip in January 2024. Any excess will be saved in prayerful hope that by the time we start our “Partnering Phase,” there will be a reserve or enough monthly support coming in to fund our expenses moving forward. The “Partnering Phase” of our mission is when we will travel for a year around USA and Canada sharing our ministry from church to church to gather support and partnerships through prayer and donations.
