👇 Read on for an excerpt of the testimony of Sion, one of our overseas missionaries who joined us during January’s mission:

“This 2026 Philipines trip in Tarlac Province has filled me with encouragement in the living God. I think during the trip, God had put on my heart that He wanted to show these villages (that already have many recent believers) that their God is also my God and of the whole globe. And that our presence will encourage them and deepen their faith in Him.

Me and my team went house to house in the villages to read and explain Gospel verses of God’s Word… For the village people I met, every single person and family were incredibly kind and humble... so I feel prayer will always be needed for the supernatural protection and grace upon the kids and young adults of the villages, pastors, and missionaries.

I felt deepened in my confidence in speaking since I believe during the training period, God perfectly used Pastor Bong and his family to open my eyes to something that the Holy Spirit always told me deep down, but I never spent the time to think much of. So I now think of God and approach His Gospel, in a clearer way…

If one rejects Him, He will be glorified in His perfect execution of judgement… If one accepts Him, God will be glorified from His perfect life, death, burial, and resurrection being given to them… In [these] displays of supreme power and holiness, He has increased glory. No matter what we do, God will be glorified.

I meditated these things in my heart while I went out to do the house to house Gospel reading. This enabled me to have happiness for God regardless of the results. Because I know He will get the glory He deserves.

Now when I go to Saturday outreach with my father in Southern California, I feel no issue in telling someone that I’m handing out Gospel tracks for God first, and you secound, and that He will be glorified and stay glorified no matter what you do, because that is the living God I serve.

“Whoever serves is to do so as one who is serving by the strength which God supplies; so that in all things God may be glorified through Jesus Christ, to whom belongs the glory and dominion forever and ever. Amen.” (1 Peter‬ ‭4‬:‭11‬)

During our missionary journey through USA and Canada last year, we gave an open invitation to all the churches to prayerfully consider joining us in Philippines for a short-term mission. God sovereignly gave us this team of 8 who all in Christ-like manner came to serve rather than to be served.

Of all the short-term missions we’ve hosted, this was by far the most challenging. In addition to the expected difficulties like early mornings, late nights, language barriers, heat, and mosquitos, this team experienced:

… our ride breaking down TWICE
… sickness with cough or fever
… being denied entry through military checkpoints
… hiking up mountains to our mission point
… riding on the back of kalabaws or motorcycles

Despite the unpredictability of every day and plans needing to change again and again, God enabled this team to trust in the Lord, to not be shaken, and to serve with joy! We praise the Lord for how God has equipped each one for the good work He had prepared beforehand for us to do on this mission.

It was a blessing to together take pains in the study of the Scriptures, to minister to the local churches, and to preach the good news to the lost. What wonderful fellowship we shared because of the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ!

🙏 Join us in prayer for Normi, Sam, Ofie, Malia, Sion, Josh, Leslie, and Karen as they have/will fly back to America. Pray that God will use this trip to grow them in their love for Christ and His mission field. Pray that they would be living testimonies of the gospel as they share their experiences to their churches, families, and friends. Pray that they would boast only of Christ and His work in and through them for His glory alone.

“But the Word of God is not bound…” (2 Timothy 2:9)

Because of an active terrorist threat, our team was not permitted to enter the military base for our last day of evangelism. Praise the Lord, the villages we know of inside the base are safe and the military was able to resolve the threat. But despite the outreach not going according to plan, Maruglo Baptist Chuch still continued with feeding many families near their church.

As for our team, we spent the day in fellowship, in God’s Word, in prayer with thanksgiving for all that the Lord accomplished even with all these set backs. In God’s sovereignty, He didn’t allow us to finish the mission as planned because He’s showing us that this mission is not over! Our ministry to the churches and to lost in the Aeta villages both near and far will continue beyond this short-term trip. As the Lord wills, we’ll have the rest of 2026 to bring the gospel of Jesus Christ to these mountains.

The day after, we had a celebration lunch with the pastors, their wives, the local team, and what was left of our overseas team (some had already left for their flight back to America). There was a lot of food, a lot of laughter, and a lot of praises to God for the glory He displayed in and through and to us during the past two weeks of mission. As many of our missionaries testified, it’s beautiful to have witnessed the unity and the love between the local churches and their pastors.

It was a bittersweet time as our overseas team said their goodbyes, certain that whether in this lifetime or the next, we’ll all be together again to give glory in the Spirit to the Father and to the Lamb who is worthy of all our praise! Amen and amen!

Mission Report

This past January, we went to several places in the Philippines preaching and sharing the Gospel of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ according to His Word (Rom 10:17). Praise God for the hundreds of people who heard God’s Word and by His sovereign will, believed in His Gospel according to Scripture (1 Cor 15:1-5).

By God’s grace, we partnered with several local pastors along with their church leaders in sharing His Gospel door to door and conducting evangelistic events in their communities. Plus, during seminars and preaching engagements many pastors in addition to their church leaders were exhorted to keep Christ Jesus at the center of sharing His Gospel and fulfilling His Great Commission (Matt 28:18-20)!

In our preparation to live in the Philippines, this mission truly opened our eyes and prepared our hearts to the work/mission that the Lord Jesus Christ prepared beforehand and by His grace we will walk in them (Eph 2:10).
