“You will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth” (Acts 1:8). As the saying goes, the mission field is wherever God has placed you. So, in our calling to preach the gospel to all the world, especially to His church, we began at our home turf. With the full support of our church family, we visited congregation after congregation, family after family from city to city in USA then in Canada. We shared our heart for Jesus Christ and our desire to see His people be centered on Him alone.

When we finally landed in the Philippines, aside from the logistical aspects of moving our family and ministry to another country, we also spent each weekend traveling and preaching at different churches around Luzon island. Then we crossed lahar plains and climbed mountains to preach the gospel to faraway villages, which at times felt like the ends of the earth!​

 

As I look back at the past year of travel, this Scripture comes to my mind and heart: “Standing firm in one spirit, with one mind striving together for the faith of the Gospel…” (Phil 1:27-30). Our striving together in differing forms and locations, boils down to our faith in the Gospel of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. In all these, I echo Paul’s sentiment in Philippians 1:3-5, “I thank my God in all my remembrance of you, always in every prayer of mine for you all making my prayer with joy, because of your partnership in the Gospel from the first day until now.”

Looking at the years ahead, as the Lord wills, may the generosity that He has granted to us through the gospel of Jesus Christ, result in living a life revealing His immeasurable worth!
